About Us

create calmer, more inclusive care environments.

Why Choose Us?
Independent & Unbiased
- We work for you — not the dental office, not the insurance company. Whether you’re a senior living community, caregiver, or individual, our focus is the same: protecting your best interests and keeping dental care understandable, ethical, and easy to manage.
Comprehensive Expertise
- With 20 years of experience in dental hygiene, corporate sales, and healthcare insurance, we understand dentistry from every angle — clinical, administrative, and financial. That insight allows us to help facilities improve staff confidence, reduce costly dental-related incidents, and strengthen communication between residents, care teams, and dental providers.
Empathy & Advocacy
- Dental decisions can be intimidating, especially for seniors and caregivers. We make sure residents stay in control of their care, families stay informed, and staff feel supported — not burdened — by the dental side of wellness. Every conversation begins with listening, because prevention and clarity always cost less than confusion and crisis.
We fill the gap between dental care, communication, and prevention — so you can focus on the people you serve.
Our Mission – “The Story”
The dental system wasn’t built for seniors, caregivers, or the communities that support them — and it often leaves individuals on their own to navigate confusing or costly treatment decisions. Low insurance rates, limited access, and high costs make ethical dental care difficult to sustain, especially in senior living environments.
Dental Advocacy Support Services was created to close that gap. We make dental care clearer, safer, and more coordinated by supporting residents, families, and individuals — and by training care teams with the knowledge and tools to recognize changes early and prevent avoidable emergencies.
Our guiding principle is simple: clarity, advocacy, and inclusion.
When people understand their options and feel empowered to speak up, everyone benefits — from the individual to the entire community.
Our Expertise – Meet the Founder
Marissa Brubaker, RDH, BCPA is the founder of Dental Advocacy Support Services (DASS).
A licensed dental hygienist in multiple states and Board Certified Patient Advocate, she brings 20 years of experience across clinical care, corporate sales, insurance, and healthcare advocacy.
Her diverse background provides a 360-degree understanding of dentistry — from patient treatment and business operations to insurance structure and ethical compliance.
Recognized early in her career with the Oral-B Excellence in Chairside Education Award, Marissa has built a professional path defined by education, communication, and patient empowerment. She has worked within senior living and Medicaid-based mobile dentistry programs, led staff training on oral health protocols, and partnered with national manufacturers in both regional and corporate markets to improve product education and clinical outcomes.
She also holds an active Producer License in Life, Accident & Health, and Sickness, contracting with multiple dental insurance carriers as an independent resource for coverage navigation and policy interpretation. KultureCity Certified in sensory inclusion, Marissa demonstrates advanced training in healthcare ethics, patient rights, and accessibility awareness — aligning advocacy with clinical expertise.
Together, these qualifications form the foundation of DASS’s mission: improving communication, accountability, and informed consent in dental care — while helping communities develop systems that prevent avoidable emergencies and keep individuals fully informed in their care decisions.

How We Work
We start by listening — understanding where dental care has become confusing, costly, or hard to manage. From there, we clarify treatment plans, strengthen communication between providers and care teams, and train staff to spot small issues before they become emergencies. Our process reduces stress, saves time, and helps keep residents healthier and care environments running smoothly.
